Background

Women in GIS Uganda (WiGIS Uganda) is a dynamic professional network addressing the gender disparity within Uganda's geospatial industry. With limited number of women in leadership roles and limited recognition of women's contributions in the geospatial sector, WiGIS Uganda was established to change this narrative. WiGIS Uganda strives to create a safe space and a sanctuary for women across all sectors in Uganda using geospatial technology to grow professionally through mentorship, enhancing technical capacity, and networking. WiGIS Uganda stands as a beacon of support and empowerment for women in the geospatial industry.

WiGIS Uganda is a professional network for women in the geo-spatial field and their associates. In its operations, WiGIS Uganda serve as a safe place for women from all geospatial fields in Uganda.

To work towards improving the technical capacities of women in the geo-spatial industry in Uganda

To overcome job and professional related challenges such as isolation, technical derailment of women in the geospatial industry
